Hi, my name is Theresa and I am a horse enthusiast. When I was a youngster, my parents knew I was a horse person from the start. At the age of 4, I had a stuffed animal of a pony that I wouldnt let out of my sight. By the time I was six I begged my parents to go to my Aunts house daily so I could ride her pony named Tony. At the age of 9 I received my first horse as a birthday gift from my parents. Her name was Star and she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She was a 13 year old standard bred Palomino. She was perfect. Star and I went everywhere together. At the age of 10 I joined the 4-H club in my hometown in northern Michigan. I entered Western Pleasure shows and loved it. When I was 13, I bred Star to a Quarter horse stud. She had two fillies in her lifetime. Their names were Stardust and Golden Girl. I loved my horses growing up. At the age of 16, I bought my first Quarter Horse. His name was Wild Fire and he was a big horse full of athletic ability. I always entered the local horse shows and enjoyed every minute of it. I moved to Texas when I was 18. Several years later I entered into the horse world again. On July 13, 2002 I opened
for business. I teach basic western pleasure horsemanship and riding lessons. My youngest
student is 4 years old and my oldest student at this time is 46 years old. I emphasize
that if you respect the horse, the horse will respect you. I also have built prayer time
into my classes. Before every class we bow our heads in prayer and ask the lord to fill us
with the knowledge we need and to protect us while we are working with His noble creation
the horse. |
